California, United States. The population was 6,229 at the 2000 census, located
near Indio and 23 miles east of Palm Springs.
There were 2,595 households out of which 30.4% had children under the age of 18
living with them, 51.2% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female
householder with no husband present, and 35.0% were non-families. 25.6% of all
households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was
65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average
family size was 2.92.
